• I cover markets and finance from Hong Kong.

I dig data and look at how investors read the tea leaves of the political and policy wind in China. I enjoy explaining how global businesses bet on China as it slows down—the country now battles with its draconian pandemic policy that drags GDP, and faces a debt-induced crisis in its major economic powerhouse, the real estate industry, in which many Chinese individuals preserve their wealth.

My writings mostly appear on Nikkei Asia now. Her coverage of China's women and wealth has won the award for excellence under the reporting on women's issues category by the Society of Publishers in Asia in 2023.

Previously, I've covered the asset management industry for three years and my writings and video interview have appeared on Ignites Asia, a specialist publication under the Financial Times, which also selects some work clips to publish on ft.com and ftchinese.com.

I've also tracked China's electric cars and the rocket industry, and looked at the China society through the lens of social media and films. I've shot, photographed, edited, moderated, and has been on newscast including BBC, NPR and Wrench Nation. My byline has also appeared on Quartz and the South China Morning Post's Young Post.

My reporting days started in China where I interned at multiple local news outlets including Nanfang Daily, 21st Century Business Review and CNR Voice of Huaxia before I headed to Hong Kong to pursue a master's degree.

I studied international journalism and finance at the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. I speak and write in English, Chinese, and Cantonese. I am a CATTI-certified translator and interpreter.
